GEMS PROGRAM VISION...

GEMS exist to serve one simple yet sacred purpose: provide developmental support for our youth to operate in a global society.

We nurture the natural creativity of our bright young people, encouraging their entrepreneurial spirit and sense of social responsibility-- the tools necessary for them to do more than survive, but to thrive on a daily basis while building generational wealth. We will prepare today's youth to achieve their future goals with a sense of philanthropic commitment to their communities and unapologetic desire for personal success.

-A little on our philosophy & history

As a result of the deterioration of families, schools, and communities, youth struggle academically and emotionally. Faced with dwindling chances for success and advancement in mainstream society, they often choose negative and destructive lifestylesto their detriment and that of their neighborhoods. According to a national survey, although many young people demonstrate an interest in entrepreneurship, 87% reported that public education had taught them little or practically nothing about how business works, 90% rated their knowledge of entrepreneurship as very poor or fair, and 70% wanted more training. Our GEMS project serves as the trianing ground of emerging leaders for the new world and the "feeder league" of entrepreneurs and philanthropist. In 2003, 50% of our GEMS recieved scholarships toward colledge after completing the program. To simultaneously teach entrepreneurship along with philanthropy instills socially responsible ownership. Our GEMS are expected to complete high school with no less than a diploma, resume, business plan and a IDA account.
